Quartz Analyzer

All LED watches rely on the use of a quartz crystal/oscillator to keep accurate time.  Some of the vintage LED watches included a trimmer capacitor that is used to adjust the accuracy of the watch even further.  All of the digital watches sold on Planet-LED, that include an adjustable quartz oscillator, are timed using a Greiner quartz analyzer.  The goal is to make the watch accurate to within five seconds a month.  That was the standard Pulsar used for its LED watches.  If you click on the quartz analyzer below, you will see that some LED watches can be adjusted to an even higher degree of accuracy.

Quartz crystals become more stable with time.  Crystals "age" the most during their first year of life, so the crystal of a 30 year old watch has probably changed as much as it is going to change.  Performing an adjustment on a vintage LED crystal is probably the last adjustment the watch will ever require.
